DAY 111 - Sun Apr 30 2006 - A miserable failure

I intended for today to be a No Eat day, but for the first time in a while, I
caved in and ate.
It started at church with communion. Then afterwards, my wife made me a
coffee with cream. On the way home, my kids wanted McDonald's. So from
there, I just thought, what the heck. I'll just switch my eating days again and
won't eat tomorrow. So I went ahead and had a Filet-o-fish, and a meat patty
from one of my kids' hamburgers. Next, we went to Tim Hortons and I got a
French vanilla cappuccino.
My wife was home for dinner, so I decided to dine with her. We ate Greek
souvlaki pitas. (They were delicious.) I probably had about 4 of them. I also
had a plain pita by itself after one of my daughters decided she didn't want it.

Later at night after the kids were in bed I lifted my weights. I was a little upset
with myself for cheating on my diet. But at least I'll burn off some calories by
exercising. I'll make up for it tomorrow.

DAY 110 - Sat Apr 29 2006

Breakfast (9:00am): 6 pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon & whipped cream (& syrup)
4 sausage links
2 glasses of 2% milk

Lunch (1:00pm): 6-7 ground pork meatballs w/ barbecue sauce
red & yellow pepper slices & carrot sticks w/ ranch dip

Snack (5:00pm): 1 cup of coffee with 2% milk & Splenda
1 medium-sized orange

Dinner (9:00pm): 4 pieces of Little Caesar's cheese pizza w/ parmesan crust
1 chocolate cherry parfait yogurt
2 mini tangerines

Snack (11:15pm): 1 mini tangerine
Apples & Cinnamon apple sauce

It's finally my Friday! I hope tonight goes by quickly (writing from work). My breakfast
was really good. Very IHOP-like. I didn't follow a recipe. I just basically added pumpkin
pie filling to pancake mix et voilà. A little whipping cream, a little cinnamon and you've
got the same type of pumpkin pancakes IHOP usually sells in the fall. Very tasty.

The meatballs were leftover from last night. My wife made them for the kids and there
were a few left over so I ate them with the raw veggies. They were good too.

Not "diet food" by any means though. I was supposed to do my weights again today
but the weather outside was dark and rainy and I just felt like going back to bed. So
that's what I did. I'm going to have to take an extra long walk on my dinner break
tonight! I'll lift my weights tomorrow.

---
(9:35pm): I finally popped my millionth Chuzzle tonight. Meaning I've now earned
every trophy in the game. Yay me! (I have far too much free time at work, obviously.
Wish I could bring my stationary bike into the office to ride when it's slow.)

DAY 109 - Fri Apr 28 - NO EAT DAY 53

I did something unusual last night. I don't normally eat past my last work break.
But after I got home from work, I was hungry. I made myself another huge spinach
salad and ate it while I watched Survivor on tape. (So long, annoying Courtney!)

Spinach salad doesn't sound like anything bad. But the way I eat it with all the egg
and bacon and ranch dressing, it might as well be like another full breakfast.

So a little bit of guilt over that. I'm not eating anything today. I'm back on my diet pop
and chewing gum for today. I don't want the extra 400 calories after doing that...

I'm already planning tomorrow's breakfast, though. I'm feeling kind of egged-out lately,
so I think I want to make pancakes. Pumpkin pancakes like you can get at IHOP.
Those would be yummy. Perhaps with sausages?

Just cleaned up around the house today. My parents came for a short visit to give
the girls their birthday presents.

DAY 108 - Thu Apr 27 2006

Breakfast (8:30am): 2 pieces of Domino's beef & cheese pizza
4 pieces of toast with chunky peanut butter

Lunch (2:30pm): Spinach salad
(spinach, hardboiled egg, bacon, mushrooms, cheese, ranch dressing)

Snack (4:15pm): Tim Horton's French vanilla cappuccino (large)

Dinner (8:45pm): another spinach salad
1 chocolate cherry yogurt
1 small, seedless tangarine

Snack (10:45pm): another tangarine

My wife ordered Domino's for dinner last night while I was at work. I was really
hungry when I got up in the morning, so I nuked a couple leftover pieces. It really didn't
taste as good as I hoped. I really prefer vegetarian nowadays.

Then I stuffed myself with peanut butter toast, which was stupid because it made me
feel really bloated for the next couple of hours. I need to learn to take it easy and eat
more controlled portions in the morning. Even if it means a few small meals spaced
an hour or so apart. My stomach will thank me, and I'll probably feel less sloth-like.

After that I went back to bed for a couple of hours, and then lifted my weights later
when I got up. Lunch was really good. So good I brought another helping to work for
dinner. :)

DAY 107 - Wed Apr 26 2006 - NO (LOW) EAT DAY 52

20g protein powder dissolved in Kefir, with Splenda & cinnamon. 90 calories
1 mini green salad with 1 Tbsp balsamic vinaigrette dressing. 100 calories

1 egg white w/ salt & pepper. 16 calories
1 multivitamin. 0 calories.

1 green apple. 74 calories
1 can of V8 V-Go. 40 calories
20g of protein powder in water (hold your nose and chug!). 0 calories

1 black coffee with Splenda. 2 calories.

Total: 322 calories

I wonder how much weight I will have lost on May 10th after eating 300-400 calories on my OFF days?
Will it still be 11? Or a lot less? If it's considerably less, I guess I'll stop doing it. But somehow I doubt

it. It still feels like very little food. (And it is.)

DAY 106 - Tues Apr 25 2006

Breakfast (8:45am): 3 fried eggs
3 pieces of bacon
2 pieces of white toast w/ margarine
hash browns
cup of 2% milk

Lunch (1:30pm): fresh pineapple & strawberries
1 small square of birthday cake

Snack (5:00pm): cup of coffee with Splenda & 2% milk
(6:45pm): 1 green apple

Dinner (8:45pm): 1 small (6-slice) vegetarian pizza

My wife took the kids out today and let me go back to bed after breakfast. That was
really nice but I ended up sleeping too late and was pretty groggy when I woke up.
I didn't have much energy for working out but I kinda forced myself. I ate a piece of
birthday cake to try and give me a sugar rush, but it didn't help much. Anyway, it was
a small piece. Not much different than eating a waffle with syrup.

So I lifted my weights anyway but didn't use as heavy of weights as I normally would
have. Just took it easy. Low-energy day.

I'll be going for a walk on my break with my new mp3 player. Maybe that'll give me
a bit of energy.

I heard the Canucks fired head coach Marc Crawford today, with possibly more changes
to come. Might be an interesting next few days if you're a Vancouver Canucks fan.
I need to get caught up on the play-off standings now. I kind of lost track over the weekend.
